GiveAcaricature Response: Thank you for your feedback. I’d like to apologize for the disappointment that you experienced in dealing with our upcharge policy recently. The examples on our website are meant to show our artist’s talent, as well as spark some ideas for our customers. We try to be as transparent as possible regarding the possibility of additional charges; we highlight what the base price includes (1 major prop and 1-3 minor props) on the ordering page, and include a link to more information. Our intent is certainly never to blindside our customers, but we do wish to compensate our artist when we receive orders that will call for more detail, and therefore more time. The artist’s concern with orders that have many props is that not only will it take longer for him to do, but it will also require a good deal of effort to properly compose the artwork. He wouldn’t want it to look crowded, or have the props detract from the focus of the artwork - the subject.
